Mom's other true love

Happy Mother's Day!  I feel so blessed to have such a great Mom...as you can see by all of the pictures she is special.  She is a hands-on Grandma and Mother.  She loves her kids and grandkids!  My Mom is such a great example to me on how to I should be as a mother.  She takes time to listen and is very active in my life and in my girl's lives.  I feel blessed.  I feel truly blessed.

My favorite prophets...her answer may surprise and shock you!

We got to have the missionaries over for dinner.  What a treat!  I feel so blessed that because of my calling and my husband's callings in our church that we get to have them over as often as we do.  Tonight I asked the missionaries to give the lesson for FHE.  We let Kenzie pick the song out and she picked Follow the Prophet.  Elder Stewart decided to keep with the same theme and have the lesson about prophets.  He started off by asking if the girls knew who our prophet was.  Kenzie immediately said, "Pres. Thomas S. Monson.  But I don't like him.  My favorite is Gordon B. Hinckley.  I like him."  The Elders looked at me and wondered if what she said was correct as they were laughing and I was chuckling to myself as well.  That little stinker.  Then the Elders asked if they knew about Joseph Smith.  Again, Kenzie piped up and said that Joseph Smith  and Gordon B. Hinckley were here favorites and that she didn't like Pres. Thomas S. Monson.  Double stinker.  Where does she get this stuff?  For her redeeming moment (and mine as well) she immediately recited all of the prophets correctly to the missionaries.  Then she recited all of the 12 apostles and First Presidency.  I was proud of her.  Ok, she is not a double stinker...just a stinker.

In need of a prince...

The girls have been playing dress up all morning.  Brooklyn just came up to me (dressed in a wedding dress and veil with gobs of jewelry) and asked if I could find her a prince.  She wondered if Zachy was coming over or if I could invite a prince to come over.  I told her that I could be her prince and I would put a hat on so that I looked like a boy.  She told me no because princes don't have nails.  And they don't have red nails either.  (My fingernails are currently red.)  Bummer.  I bet there would be a lot of disappointed princes that wouldn't make the cut with Brooklyn because they might have nails.  I think Daddy might be the only qualifying prince because he can probably have nails and still be her prince.

Cleaning up toys and hearts

Mom:  Ok, time to clean up toys.
Kenzie:  Cleaning up toys makes me sad.
Mom:  How come it makes you sad?
Kenzie:  Because it makes me tired and it makes my heart make noises and bump.  It hurts my heart.
Mom:  Wow!  How about I help you?
Kenzie:  Ok, because my heart doesn't heart as much when Mommy helps.

Sounds like she is getting a workout!  What does that say about the mess they make with their toys?

Kissing Kenzie

Mom:  Hey Kenzie, who are your friends at preschool?  Who do you play with?
Kenzie:  Oh I love Jake and Hannah and Beckam.
Mom:  That is good.
Kenzie:  Ya, I love them Mommy.  I give them kisses.
Mom:  Wow!  Do they give you kisses back?
Kenzie:  No, they don't like kisses like I looooove kisses.  Beckam likes kisses but not Hannah and Jake.
Mom:  Well, everyone loves hugs Kenzie.  Let's give lots of hugs.
Kenzie:  Ok, Mommy.  I will just give you and Brooklyn and Wivia kisses.  And Daddy too.
Mom:  Good!  I loooove kisses. :)

Might I add also that she loooves to kiss the little boy that sits next to her in swimming lessons.  Last swimming lesson she leaned over and gave him a big kiss on the lips.  He quickly wiped it off and pushed her away.  She also looooves this lady in our ward named Sis. Ogden.  Anytime she sees her Kenzie likes to give her big hugs and aims for the lips on giving her a kiss.  Sis. Ogden is so sweet and just tells her that her cheek is her favorite spot for Kenzie's kisses.  Kenzie loves that!  I think Kenzie just likes to show love through kisses.  I hope.
